Ilha interdisciplinar de racionalidade sobre sexualidade humana: uma experiência com estudantes de uma escola rural

Abstract

The study described in this dissertation refers to intervention research based on concepts related to the understanding of human sexuality and the understanding that it is an identity element in the construction of the human being as “self”. To this end, an Interdisciplinary Island of Rationality (IIR) was built, a methodology proposed by Gérard Fourez, which aims to develop scientific and technological literacy, with the aim of training students with critical autonomy over situations relevant to their daily lives and the society in which they are inserted. During the pedagogical interventions, elements were gathered to answer the following research problem: “What are the contributions of an IIR on human sexuality to the understanding, interpretation and recognition of physiological and emotional changes typical of adolescence by elementary school students?”, starting from the objective general aim of evaluating the contributions of the construction of an IIR on the theme of Human Sexuality for the students' understanding, interpretation and recognition of the physiological and emotional changes of adolescence. The research-intervention proposal is based on some of the knowledge objectives provided for in the Base Nacional Comum Curricular - BNCC (BRASIL, 2018) and in the Referencial Curricular Gaucho (RIO GRANDE DO SUL, 2018), based on principles of interdisciplinarity, of Gerard Fourez's scientific and technological literacy, Henri Wallon's psychogenetic theory, and science knowledge about human sexuality. The methodology aimed at the development of a pedagogical intervention research, with the application of a sequence of activities based on the methodology of the Interdisciplinary Islands of Rationality (IIR), with a multigrade class of the 8th and 9th grade of Elementary School of a rural school in the municipality of Dom Pedrito. Due to the health restrictions imposed by the pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-Co V-2), activities and contact with students were carried out in a hybrid way. The research, of the pedagogical intervention type, had its data analyzed qualitatively, from the triangulation of the obtained data. The results obtained showed that the IIR contributed to establishing a dialogue between the teacher, specialist and students and making the teaching of human sexuality a theme that expands the students' scientific and technological literacy. It is concluded, therefore, that the scientific concepts were learned, and that this methodology provided them with safe guidelines on how to deal with this phase of organic and emotional changes during life.
