Relação China-Angola: análise dos impactos políticos e econômicos da presença chinesa no país africano (1989-2013)

Abstract

This monograph analyzes the political and economic impacts of the Chinese presence in Angola for both countries, in the period 1989-2013. To achieve the objective, the work uses theoretical concepts of defensive realism and the concept of grand strategy, presenting visions of several authors of the school, creating a solid theoretical base. The historical context in which Angolan Society was involved in the early 1990s is also treated, which after the war of independence, witnessed the continuity of the conflict after the conquest of sovereinghty, this time in the form of civil war. In the last chapter, the economic and financial interaction between the countries are intensified throughout the first decade of the new millennium, especially after the year 2002, which marked the end of the civil war with the death of Jonas Savimbi. The general objective of the work is pursued from a historical investigation, through a qualitative approach based on literature, with a hypothetical-deductive method. The work confirms the hypothesis that the bilateral relationship between the two countries has given Angola greater bargaining power in the international system and new possibilities for growth, while the Chinese guarantee access to raw materials and the Angolan consumer market, in addition to having a increase in its relative power compared to the other powers, due to the projection of power over Angola.
