População LGBTQIA+ e a proteção social pública no período pandêmico

Abstract

This article is a qualitative documental and exploratory research which aims to unveil the role of the state from its orientation in the intervention between the particularities of the LGBTQIA+ population in the pandemic period. So seeking to respond to this objective there was initially a debate about the social protection offered by the state to the LGBTQIA+ population during the Covid-19 pandemic period. Subsequently it reflected on the state's social protection in order to clarify its concept and its responsibilities in the face of social inequalities and their aggravation during the pandemic period. Finally, a document published on April 31, 2020 by the Federal Government from the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights (MMFDH) folder was analyzed, in the form of a booklet with information on the prevention of coronavirus (Covid-19) aimed at the LGBTQIA+ population. The document's contradictions, in ideological form, are the product of the contradictions of reality within the capitalist model already present in the composition of society and exponentially increased by the pandemic in a context of humanitarian crisis. The State's insufficiency in managing alternatives to protect the LGBTQIA+ population regarding the period of increased vulnerabilities, especially in the health area, as well as the inability of actions focused on all subjects, and reaffirms its delay in investing in public policies aimed at these subjects historically in the country.
