Os efeitos das tentativas de institucionalização da democracia nigeriana

Abstract

The coexistence in society is increasingly present, the relations must be managed by the representations in the forms of the law through the agreement with the social life within the States. For this, it is also necessary to supply the minimum to live and feel safe. In the applied theory, it is necessary to understand the development and the current stage of democracy and capitalism based on an analysis method that values the human being as a social actor and the possible group attitudes, given the presented reality. This is because after changes, there are even more that will last for years — due to the culture acquired by exchanges with other regions. This work tries to explain how these factors act on an administration, observing the social actions in the case and experience of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In addition to the description of historical events, the research seeks to deepen into causes and effects of the phenomena that involve the Nigerian democracy. In this way, the problem and general objective will be ascertained: to assess whether the population feels the benefits from political openness or the segregation of the 20th century is maintained. A comparison with the European social past is essential — about formation, political misinformation and the frustrated expectations of groups. Thus, the specific objectives will be addressed: the analysis of conditioning factors for the construction of institutional legal mechanisms typical of Western liberal democracies in countries with a social structure strongly based on tradition; to deepen in the Nigerian historical dynamics in relation to the emergence of democratic institutions after independence; to examine the state of the main current Nigerian social problems that hinder the flourishing and stability of the State economy, with the theory in hands; to evaluate the main institutional arrangements derived from its democratic opening since 1999, whether national, regional or international; and to verify quantitatively what were the results obtained from the policies adopted so far with regard to human development and economic growth.
