Demandas dos alunos do ensino fundamental de Dom Pedrito - RS sobre o tema: sexualidade

Abstract

Sexuality is a topic of great importance to be addressed in the school environment and Sexual Education is a desire and right of adolescents of school age who can help in their formation, making them critical and aware of their rights and duties. The purpose of this research was to understand how students would like the subject sexuality to be approached within the school. The justification of this research is related to the difficulty of approaching sex education in school. From these difficulties, it is necessary to investigate the doubts and the subjects that the students would like to learn about the topic sexuality during the classes. A total of 155 students were enrolled in three public schools in the city of Dom Pedrito, RS. The research is characterized methodologically as qualitative and as for the objectives as explanatory, the technical procedures adopted will be the for the data collection a structured questionnaire was elaborated with open and closed questions. It was noticed that the students studied do not understand the concept of sexuality, relating it to gender and the gender of each individual. In addition, students have curiosities on various topics, such as adolescence, dating, ways to avoid pregnancy, intercourse. As for the way to raise doubts about the subject, the internet was the most cited, while the teacher and the directive team were not mentioned, which reveals a worrying fact, since it is in the school that students spend the longest time and it should be in this space that it should have access to this information. It was also verified that the schools approach the subject, generally, through lecturers of the health area. Therefore, Sexual Education cannot be limited to biological only, it is fundamental that they debate general aspects of human sexuality, which form the basis for a healthy and pleasurable sexual life. In order for any initiative to sexually educate to be functional, it is necessary that teachers have strengthened in themselves the attitude of recognition that it is the function of the school and thus approach sexuality with another bias, trying to contemplate the various fields of knowledge and that the information are contextualized with the reality and the interest of the students.
