Distrito de Santa Isabel, Arroio Grande - RS: um registro de bens culturais e reflexões sobre o turismo cultural

Abstract

Culture is an expression of the subjectivity of a given location, starting from its social transformations and emerging from the existing community in a given location. The Sub-district of Arroio Grande, Rio Grande do Sul, called Santa Isabel, due to its historical and geographical characteristics, has material and immaterial cultural assets of inestimable value. The cultural expressions found in the locality are of regional historical relevance, so it is important to recognize and encourage knowledge above the particularities existing in the fishing village, object of this research. the objective of this work is to present part of the heritage of Santa Isabel, especially intangible goods, from the speech of the residents of the fishing village, religiosity, legends, stories. As specific objectives, it is intended to understand what these residents think of the development of tourism in the place and how heritage can be signified through tourist activity. The methodology used was a theoretical review on tourism and heritage, interviews with four local residents, collection of photographs and documents. In this way, it is also sought to recognize and point out the social demands existing in the community, presenting itself as a means of promoting a better quality of life not only for local tourists, but also for the community that resides in the place.
