Turismo e desenvolvimento: uma análise da Ferradura dos Vinhedos, pela abordagem do desenvolvimento endógeno

Abstract

There has been high demand for alternatives which break with the stagnation of economically depressed regions. Tourism has been one of the options, mainly in suburban regions, as are the rural zones. Besides valuing the location of it, it is considered the motor of regional and further development and also the inductor of sustainability. In this context, the general objective of this research was to describe the general scenario of activities of tourism all through the “Rota turística Ferradura dos Vinhedos” and analyze if these activities have development characteristic type endogenous. This research could be qualified as exploratory and descriptive, with qualitative and quantitative aspects. Besides the bibliographic and documental check, a structured interview was made with the main people involved in the touristic activities inside the “Rota”. Out of 13 stores, twelve answered the questions. The main reason why this method was chosen is because the interest was to reach the goals determined and also check the effects of “Rota '' concerning the wealth generation and its capacity to conduct the endogenous development. Most of the companies observed that they had some credit from the market or financial institution. Also to be considered are the endogenous development characteristics which are still in process, adding the high level of cooperation between these companies. Concerning the specialized workforce, goods and technology, most of them can be found in their municipality or in its region. This is the fundamental factor to reach the endogenous development and generate wealth.
