Musica e educação ambiental: análise das mudanças nas representações sociais de alunos do curso técnico em administração da Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio XVde novembro – SG/RS

Abstract

This study aims to verify if the music could be used in environmental education as a tool that can help the student to grasp the social and environmental problems worked in class. Education has its roots set in the Cartesian model, resulting in the rupture of relations between the various issues, whether relating to the environment, to the artistic, social, sociocultural, etc. This fragmentation of the connections between parts, makes the act of working environmental education in schools, it becomes a challenge, since it comes to paradigm shifts, behaviors and values. Through anthropocentrism heritage of Cartesian model that considers man as a main reference, is given the crisis of perception of the speech of the term "environmental education" because "education" is commonly understood in the same sense of "traditional education", while the word "environment" is often understood as synonymous with "ecologic". Given this, one should take into account what may be being worked as environmental education, can treat merely an environmental training. Because of this and the current scenario in which it is environmental education, the use of new tools to aid in the educational process is necessary, and this study aimed to determine if the music can be one of these tools by analyzing the relationship between changes in social representations of ten volunteers, students of the Technical Course in Administration of State High School XV de Novembro, and the use of music, ie, if it helped in the apprehension of environmental problems presented in class. For this research, we created an intervention based on dialectical methodology (for knowledge mobilization, knowledge building and development of knowledge synthesis). After all transcribed interviews before and after class worked with students, has begun to content analysis and multivariate statistical analysis (cluster analysis, principal coordinates analysis, the Mantel test). Checking the results, one can see that the changes in the social representations of the volunteers were related to the intervention worked with them.
