O projeto político pedagógico e a valorização da diversidade cultural

Abstract

The present paper brings a reflection about how Cultural Diversity and prejudice are contemplated in the Political Pedagogical Project at an Early Childhood Education School in Bagé - RS and how the teachers approach the diversity of the students combining their activities with the proposals of the project. The idea of the research came from the researcher experience as a teacher in a Primary and Secondary School of the private educational system, located downtown in the aforementioned city, due to the fact that in 2011 this school received students from Palestine, fact which has become challenging for the teachers, due to communication difficulties, and other cultural differences. In that occasion, each teacher created his or her methodology of work, with the intention of welcoming the students in a loving way and integrating them in their respective classes, avoiding that the prejudice permeated in the relations and thus, favoring the educational practice. In view of this situation, the importance of the Political Pedagogical Project as a guiding base for the teacher's work started observed, being this document the identity of the School. As the private school no longer provides services to the community of Bagé, the school chosen to be researched is the current teaching institution where the researcher works. The research carried out is of the exploratory type, since it was made a bibliographical survey of authors who dialogue with the theme of the thesis, it was also carried out an interview with a teacher with vast professional experience and analysis of the Political Pedagogical Project in order to reach the objective of this research that is to reflect about how cultural diversity and prejudice are contemplated in the Pedagogical Political Project of a public school in Bagé - RS. With a qualitative approach of the investigated information we were able to respond to the specific objectives and, finally, to collect the data we used the roadmap of information gathering and analysis of Political Pedagogical Project: Elements of Pedagogical Innovation. After collecting all data it is needed the treatment of the material gathered, starting with the ordenation, consequentely the classification and the analysis itself. With the reading of all material, it was possible to realize that the Political Pedagogical Project is still not treated with great importance by most teachers and that often it is only in the school office as a task to be fulfilled by determination of higher organs that require the construction of the Project.
