Abstract

The relationship between media and education, in current times, is increasingly relevant to be studied and articulated, both in terms of its appropriation in the school environment and in the sphere of media communication. The contemporary context, on a global scale, raises analyses and discussions that contribute to the understanding and qualification of the processes that involve new sociabilities and human interaction based on multiple formats and languages. A new world-culture is being established, not only associated with the meaning of virtualization and mobile devices as instruments at the service of teaching and learning. It is also present, from various perspectives of implementation and development, in the fabric of competencies and skills, creativity and innovation, protagonism and social transformation. The scenario in which, above all, teachers and education professionals in general operate, encompasses the presence of different social actors, resources and tools that contribute to redefining the experience of school education. In view of this, the Federal University of Pampa, in partnership with the Open University of Brazil, began offering a Lato Sensu postgraduate course, in distance learning mode, aiming to provide students from all over the country with the opportunity to come into contact with theories, techniques and reflections related to the important and pressing issues involved in the subject. This book brings together a selection of articles and reports originating from part of the scientific investigations and experiments undertaken by graduates and their advisors in the first edition of the course. It is arranged alphabetically based on the title of the productions and includes approaches to projects, practices and characters related to educommunication and their contributions to pedagogical work in an innovative and transformative way, in the service of citizenship.
