Abstract

This research had as objective to discuss the theme Geodiversity and the Teaching of Sciences in Infantile Education and its importance for the construction of knowledge. This choice was based on the community's problem of being part of the city called the capital of Geodiversity, allowing reflections on the relevance of Science Teaching in Early Childhood Education and considering that children of this age group are naturally curious, investigative, observant and show a great interest in To know the world This research had as objective to discuss the theme Geodiversity and the Teaching of Sciences in the Infantile Education and its importance for the construction of the knowledge. From the understanding and assimilation in learning situations through free games and directed in the spaces of the Institution of Child Education, a sequence of activities was developed involving the theme Geodiversity. The methodological option was a qualitative approach, since the data collection took place through observations, filming, photographs, drawings and pedagogical interventions. It is noteworthy that the development of play activities from an early age can appropriate scientific knowledge by collaborating with an articulated learning to the previous knowledge of the theme Geodiversity. The results show that the contextualized theme with the school reality allowed the students to develop autonomy and criticality.
