For many years, the German government rejected the idea of being an immigrants’ country, this had a direct influence on the migratory policies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the construction of the German government's migratory policies since World War II, the changes that the policies undergo and what influence it has on the integration of Germany into the European Union. The concepts used address issues such as migration policies, immigration, emigration, the European balance of power and legislation. We conducted an analysis of several authors and a comparison between the migratory reality of World War II and the regulation of immigration in the post-World War II. The paper concludes that there is in fact an influence of the events occurred in World War II in the construction of the future German migratory policies of post-World War II onwards.pt_BR
