A feminização na profissão docente

Abstract

The feminization of Education had its trajectory marked by social and economic impacts. For many centuries, women had a role of submission to men and, for a long time, the role of serving and procreating was restricted to them. Authors such as Priori (2009) and Freire (2011) report in their works the long journey that women have had and continue to have in being inserted in all fields that until then belonged to men. Breaking barriers, she enters the workforce, stands out in the classroom and still carries the paradigm of care, linked to maternal responsibilities, and salary devaluation because she is female. This article is of a bibliographic nature, containing information about feminization in the teaching class, bringing questions still pertinent to the 21st century about the demand for women in this profession, from the established prototype of a caring woman and unfortunately the salary and social inequality that still exists. The search for identity and its space in the job market were the result of a struggle by women and there is still a lot to be done to be equal in all fields of work that are still dominated by men. Knowing how to make conscious choices is the greatest challenge for women in the 21st century, as long as their essence and limits are respected, that is, choices that make them more whole and fulfilled, in life and in their relationships.
