Do anonimato ao destaque no hip-hop brasileiro: o papel das relações públicas na ascensão da dupla Tasha & Tracie

Abstract

Peripheral cultural production in Brazil occurs through movements such as hip-hop and funk, being driven mainly by black youth who are present in the favelas. Inserted in this context, the twins Tasha and Tracie Okereke, born in Jd. Peri (north zone of São Paulo) created in 2014 the blog Expensive Shit, in favor of the intellectual autonomy of young black people and the periphery. The present academic work sought to understand how the communication strategies present in the Expensive Shit blog contributed to the twins Tasha & Tracie becoming references in peripheral cultural production and for that, a bibliographical research was carried out in order to raise academic material to support the writing about communication strategies in Public Relations, digital media, peripheral cultural production and hip hop, peripheral cultural production and Public Relations in reality and also, a brief presentation of the Okereke sisters tensioning on gender, race and class issues that permeate their existences . Afterwards, a documentary research was carried out where journalistic articles, interviews and texts published on the blog in question were found, which had some of their fragments analyzed during the last methodological stage, with the objective of identifying how the dialogue between the authors and the readers of the target Audience. In conclusion, it was possible to note that the use of a more colloquial vocabulary, with slang and content with information adapted to the reality of the readers, facilitated understanding and generated a more accessible knowledge sharing scenario, promoting a greater approximation with the interlocutors who also felt represented by Tasha & Tracie, who today act as MCs and are references of the new generation of national rap.
