Cadastro Ambiental Rural (CAR) em três estados brasileiros: uma análise comparativa de suas reservas legais

Abstract

Currently, there is a concern among environmentalists, society and governments about the native vegetation land use in rural areas. There were instituted country’s norms in order to reduce tension, to create environmental policies, to stimulate economic development, to explore more arable areas and to preserve the environment, so flora and fauna do not go extinct. This is how the current resolution of the Forest Code, by Law No. 12.651 of 2012, provides important provisions on the protection of Legal Reserve and Rural Environmental Registry (RER) areas. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to analyze the new treatment given to the Legal Reserve by the current Forest Code, its percentages and its representation in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul based on the RER registries. Thus, the use of RER information was used in order to establish the percentage of Legal Reserve in the three states. It was made through graphs and tables, so was possible a comparative analysis among the states. At the end of the study it was concluded that the Rural Environmental Registry is an informational tool and indicator of legal reserve values for the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul. In addition, the RER can be used as a management tool for creation and modification of environmental policies, and is a tool to monitor and protect the legal reserve of all Brazilian Biomes.
