Estudo dos Programas da Extensão Rural e as Possíveis Transformações na Agricultura Familiar em Dom Pedrito/RS entre 2014 e 2018

Abstract

This article aims to study the transformations of family agriculture in the municipality of Dom Pedrito from rural extension programs. It was described the historical and current context of family agriculture in the municipality, identifying the main programs worked between 2014 and 2018, besides presenting the reasons that led to participation in the programs and to cite the main results obtained. For the accomplishment of this article, the bibliographical research and interviews were used, that were realized with ten familiar producers that participate in the main programs of the rural extension. Also interviewed was a technician from the local Office of Emater / RS - ASCAR. The main results indicate that over time the number of programs worked in the municipality has increased considerably. The results also indicate that some programs, specifically the PNAE, the PAA the Agricultural Patrol and the PRONAF, are 2 more successful in their application to family producers. In other programs the need to work to reduce some difficulties that some producers face in relation to the development of their activity is perceived. It was generally found that despite some counterpoints, the programs addressed in this article constitute opportunities for the development of family farmers and family agriculture in the municipality.
